The Heart of Prom

A Moment to Remember: Dressing up for a High School Prom
By Shiya Tamasao

It's not the venue, it's not the music and it's definitely not the food. Some maybe very hesitant, excited or eccentric for the actual event, but there's always this thrill for a new and best outfit to show off to everyone.

Talking to the Lovely Shoes

In this once in a lifetime event, it's not only the girls who do all the make-up, the preparation and the beauty rest, the boys also do the girly stuffs when it comes to this special occasion. Why would they not? We only experience this kind of gala during our high school years. I, particularly will never forget my high school prom and it's something that I'll always remember for the rest of my life.

Friends and Classmates at PROM

The girl wearing the crown on the right side is not me. Her name is Jennifer and she's my sister. During her senior prom, I was in charge of almost everything. I was the make-up artist, the hair stylist and the photographer. It was a tiring job but very fun. I had a really great time doing all the preparation for my sister's prom.

The jewelries, hair accessories, shoes, make-up and the gown was very well planned (not really). The gown was found out of the blue. We were just planning for a simple cocktail, but when we saw the unique and classy design in a boutique, my mom and I decided that we have to take it.

A Cute and Perfect Moment to Remember
Who would not want to be a part of this momentous event? You not only get to dance with your partner, eat the food you like, get to see your friends and spend time talking, dancing or taking pictures with them, but you also get to dress beautifully like a prince or princess (depending on the theme or motif of the festivity).

You get to be pretty and be somebody. It’s like being Cinderella for one night and when you have finally unleashed your hidden beauty and creativity, there’s also a possibility that you can win the title of Junior and Senior Prom King and Queen. Everything is possible but don’t expect too much

Thus, what's really important, the dress? Well maybe. But it's just not the attire. Despite the glamour and the breathtaking outfits, what’s really important is the exciting preparations and the fun time you experienced during your high school promenade.
